STEP 4
IMPROVE
Implementing new technology is just the “start” of the process. Working to continually educate, train and upskill current and future employees is critical to the long-term success of the company as well as the path to create opportunity for the workforce.
To assist with these efforts, the Maryland MADE 4.0 team will develop and deliver the following:

Training
4.0 Smart Manufacturing Technology and Technology-specific training will be delivered through a variety of channels, including low-cost / no-cost solutions for individuals and businesses that may be located in under-served or disadvantaged communities.
The Maryland MADE team has partnered with CESMII and ToolingU to make 4.0 Technology available through Maryland MEP’s Learning Management System. Through this platform, individuals and companies will have access to classes, training and programming related to the implementation and optimization of technology in the manufacturing environment.
In addition to the on-demand learning, manufacturers and individuals will have the opportunity to participate in technology-specific training delivered through virtual, in-person and cohort style learning.

Recruitment
The development of a pipeline of skilled and qualified workforce is critical to the growth of the manufacturing sector in Maryland. Through this program, the Maryland MADE 4.0 team will work with partner organizations and community-based organizations to provide opportunities for employment in the manufacturing sector in Maryland.

Expansion and Scaling
The long-term sustainability of this program is a key objective of the Maryland MADE 4.0 team. Throughout the process, the team will engage partners, stakeholders and industry to identify opportunities for the expansion and scaling of these programs.
