STEP 2
EVALUATE
Identifying, evaluating and selecting the correct “Smart Manufacturing / Manufacturing 4.0 Technology” can be a daunting process. To help with these challenges, the Maryland MADE team has developed a series of tools to assist manufacturers in evaluating which technologies may be the most impactful, calculate potential ROI, and develop a roadmap approach for short-term and long-term implementation.
Technology Readiness Assessments
Maryland MADE has partnered with the CESMII Smart Manufacturing Institute to provide Maryland Manufacturers with access to a low-cost technology readiness assessment that can be used to clarify goals and objectives, identify barriers and weaknesses and inform decisions for the future.
Technology Road-mapping
Through funding provided under this program, manufacturers will have the opportunity to apply for “deep-dive” support in preparing and delivering a detailed technology road-mapping process to expand upon the readiness assessment and prepare the organization for implementation. The technology road-mapping process is an intensive follow-on to the assessment tool The road-mapping process typically takes 3 – 6 months and requires the full commitment and support of organizational leadership.
Vendor Identification
Through our partnerships, relationships and long-history of supporting the manufacturing sector, the Maryland MADE 4.0 team can provide assistance in identifying technology-specific vendors, partners and integrators capable of best-supporting the industry base.
