Empowering HR Leaders: Maryland MEP’s HR Manufacturing Peer Group Drives Workforce Innovation and Collaboration

Maryland MEP established the Manufacturing HR Peer Group in 2022 to support industry leaders across the state. In October 2024, the HR Peer Group concluded its third year with the participation of thirteen companies, including Tata Consumer Products, Miltec UV, Canam Steel, Elite Spice, Pompeian, Saft, Paul Reed Smith Guitars, Sherwin-Williams, Beachley, Eisai, Phoenix Mecano, MasPanadas, and Pixelligent.

In the ever-evolving manufacturing landscape, addressing workforce challenges demands collaboration, innovation, and knowledge sharing. The 2024 HR Peer Group hosted six interactive sessions led by industry experts on critical workforce topics, such as legal compliance, recruitment, organizational culture, employee retention, and upskilling.

The Manufacturing HR Peer Group serves as a vital platform for Maryland companies to connect, share experiences, and exchange best practices that might otherwise remain confined within their organizations. By bringing together top industry experts, the HR Peer Group fosters the development of innovative strategies and solutions. Many participating companies have reported tangible improvements within their organizations, as well as a strengthened ability to navigate the complexities of HR management.

Maryland MEP plans to continue the HR Peer Group initiative in 2025, adapting its focus to the ever-changing needs of the manufacturing sector and its workforce.
