The Maryland Energy Administration (“MEA”) has opened the Commercial, Industrial & Agricultural Fiscal Year 2024 Grant Program. This Program is to support the implementation of energy efficiency improvement projects to manufacturing facilities. This grant is non-competitive, first-come, first-served for eligible projects and has a total budget of up to $4,400,000.  Awarded grants can cover up to 85% of net total energy-related project costs to $400,000.

Examples of qualified projects and investments include:

  • Building insulation and envelope improvements
  • Lighting and controls
  • Motors and variable frequency drives (VFDs)
  • Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) upgrades
  • Refrigeration
  • Retro-commissioning or recommissioning
  • Energy data analytics and operational changes to improve energy efficiency
  • Building Management Software (BMS)

Join RMI, Maryland MEP and MEA for an informational webinar.

We will share best practices, insights, project eligibility criteria, and answer as many questions as we can in an effort to help you put forth a strong application. MEA will also share details on additional grants and loan programs for manufacturers.

Prior to and following the webinar, RMI and Maryland MEP plan to assist the manufacturing community with the application process, including assistance with necessary calculations of the energy consumption baseline for the facility(s) and the estimated energy savings generated by their projects (in kWh, therms, etc.) in relation to these baselines.
