Maintenance Planning & Scheduling Training 2026

Maintenance Planning & Scheduling

In today’s highly competitive manufacturing environment, effective maintenance planning and scheduling are essential to keeping equipment running reliably, safely, and cost-effectively. This two-day course is designed to help maintenance and operations professionals strengthen their planning and scheduling practices to reduce downtime, control costs, and improve overall equipment performance.

Participants will explore the core elements of maintenance planning and scheduling, including work order development, job planning, critical equipment identification, safety and compliance considerations, and coordination with production schedules. The course also covers key tools such as root cause analysis, performance metrics, inventory cost control, and the use of CMMS and mobile technologies to support maintenance operations. Real-world exercises focus on productivity improvement, labor utilization, and decision-making around in-house versus contracted work.

By the end of the course, participants will be better equipped to build structured, efficient maintenance plans, improve collaboration between maintenance and operations, and apply best practices that drive continuous improvement. Attendees will leave with practical tools and strategies they can immediately use to increase reliability, extend asset life, and enhance the value of the maintenance function within their organization.
